ABOUT

Dr. Kaitlyn Neufeld is a passionate educator and performer based in the Dallas area. She teaches woodwinds and music appreciation at Dallas College and maintains a private studio of clarinetists and saxophonists. Previously, Kaitlyn served as the clarinet instructor at MidAmerica Nazarene University and as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at both the University of Kansas and the University of New Mexico, where she taught applied clarinet lessons, woodwind methods, and music appreciation.

An active performer, Kaitlyn has played with the Kansas City Lyric Opera, New Mexico Philharmonic, Crossroads Wind Ensemble, Pinnacle Winds, and the Albuquerque Symphony. As a founding member of Duo Velox with saxophonist Aaron Burr, she has performed at prestigious conferences such as ClarinetFest, the International Duo Symposium, the Texas Music Educators Association conference, and the North American Saxophone Alliance conference.

Kaitlyn holds a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Clarinet Performance with a cognate in Woodwinds from the University of Kansas. Her dissertation, A Clarinetist’s Guide to Multiple Woodwinds, provides a unique approach for clarinetists to begin exploring other woodwind instruments. Her primary clarinet teachers include Dr. Stephanie Zelnick, Professor Keith Lemmons, and Dr. David Shea. Additionally, Kaitlyn has studied saxophone with Dr. Ashley Kelly, Dr. Eric Lau, and Professor Vince Gnojek, and flute with Dr. Daniel Velasco.
